We observe and analyze networks, DNS, the Web, servers, digital certificates, and other components of the Internet to understand their state and how they change, and to turn those insights into safer and more secure systems.
Our Research
At SSLab, we approach safety and security in cyberspace from three complementary perspectives.
- Understand the normal state
We observe networks and systems to understand their usual behavior and identify signs of change. - Examine the surrounding environment
We collect and analyze information about DNS, servers, digital certificates, and other infrastructure that supports communication and online services. - Turn findings into action
We use what we learn from observation and analysis to consider appropriate responses, countermeasures, and system designs.
More about our research
Our research combines Internet measurement, data analysis, and software development. We use these methods not simply to collect data or build software, but to understand what is happening in cyberspace and how our findings can contribute to safer and more reliable systems.
